An avid urban explorer ventures into an abandoned blue and white China Motor Bus.
China Motor Bus Company (CMB) was established in 1923 with a franchise to provide bus services on Hong Kong Island. The quality of its bus services deteriorated, resulting in the loss of the franchise of 26 bus routes in 1993 and finally on 1 September 1998, the government withdrew the franchise.
The decommissioned CMB was hidden in a deserted field full of trees and vines in the New Territories. Most of the seats inside the bus have been dismantled and filled with sundries such as fans, mattresses, clothes, luggage and daily necessities. A metal folding gate was installed at the lower door, and the empty space near the tail shaft has been converted into a room.
Urban exploration is based on the principles of take nothing except picture, leave no trace and not revealing the location.
