Outside Times Square yesterday, people responded to the “Freenix Flashmob Causeway Bay” action, folding origami birds, symbolising the belief of Hong Kong people in their struggle for freedom.
“Freenix”, a phoenix rising for freedom from the ashes, appeared in Times Square in Causeway Bay yesterday afternoon, and the paper birds formed huge circles. Hundreds of people participated spontaneously, and more and more paper birds were folded into huge circles. Some citizens remained behind into the night.
The public silently folded origami cranes, someone placed a mini “New Hong Kong Lady Liberty” statue inside to express their desire in the pursuit of freedom.
