Matt Morgan（馬樂行）WhatsApp給我訊息：“We are always trying to get friends and family to come to visit Hong Kong, so they can experience all the amazing elements it has to offer.”
我第一次聆聽來自美國的民歌手Matt詠唱他的folk songs，是在中環新世界大廈24樓的Town Club。
2026年3月22日，Sunny邀請我們在Town Club見面，說那裏比較清靜，談及我們的project，會從容自在得多。「Club House 提供的東南亞食品，水準不錯。特別是海南雞飯，值得一試。」Sunny除了清唱古典／現代藝術歌曲了得，亦是識飲識食之人，有了他的推薦，我們都聽他的。何況，Sunny說他會員卡內的消費額可多，怎麼用都沒法用完呢。
星期天到會所吃午餐的會員不多，我們坐在一角，談起話來，百無禁忌，就像在私家房裏面一樣，自由自在， 沒有人會來打擾呢。
就在我們吃頭盤的時候，會所前的舞台上，站着兩名歌手，一男一女，唱出經典民歌來。
晚上時刻，有歌手在會所、酒店大堂，提供fine dinning的餐廳唱歌，並不罕見。但中午時分，竟有歌手手持結他，在Club House唱民歌，算是少見的了。
歌手在唱歌，我們在談話。歌聲不會讓我們的談話不得不停下來，我們說話也沒有影響歌手詠唱。我們與歌手相距不遠，卻又能夠各做自己喜歡做之事，唱歌或談話，都可以同時進行。有時候，我們不說話了，就是想停止談話，靜心欣賞歌手透過歌聲詮釋歌詞內涵。
聽過不少在餐廳現場詠唱的歌手（特別是在fine dinning餐廳的），歌藝不俗，就是唱起流行歌曲來，總是帶點油膩感，聽他／她們唱一首歌，已經覺得足夠了，最好是不要再唱下去了。
這個下午，我們聽到行雲流水般的民歌，竟然沒半點油膩感覺。
來到休息時間，遂上前與歌手打招呼。男歌手說他名叫Matt Morgan： “I am currently performing as a solo act in Hong Kong.”A solo artist entity。因此，女歌手的姓名欠奉。“May be in the future, if we choose to do an official duo, we can highlight her amazing contribution and our dynamic together.”
女歌手看來並不介意，此刻她不用說出她的姓名來。她的和聲合唱，甚至是獨唱，已見她的個性、獨特風格。暫時當個無名無姓歌手，可以的啊。
Matt說：“Upon completion of my time in Hong Kong, I will go to Phnom Penh, Cambodia for a returning artist residency to perform at the Rosewood Sora Skybar.”
這個星期天，吃了個大家都感到滿意的午餐。喜出望外的bonus，是聆賞了Matt和他的partner唱出徐疾有致、音質清爽的folk songs。
隔了一個星期，Matt傳來他對民歌的看法：“I've always loved singer /songwriters. I grew up listening to artists like John Denver, Nanci Griffith, and James Taylor.”
“I love songs like Annie's song or Sunshine in my shoulders by John Denver and Fire and rain or Carolina in my mind by James Taylor ── and the entire discography of Nanci Griffith (my favourite artist of all time)."
好的，下次我們在Rosewood見面，就讓Matt從John Denver的首本名曲唱起，再到James Taylor的，然後是Nanci Griffith 。
