Hundreds of protesters gathered between the Yuen Long Police Station and the Yuen Long City Hall and shouted at the police who are videoing the protest.
45 people were injured in the mob attack in Yuen Long on 21July. Netizens launched this Saturday (27th) march to “recover Yuen Long”. The villagers were very nervous. The police issued an objection to the march on the 25th. The notice lists five reasons for opposing the procession. Three of the issues related to the location include the applicant’s refusal to change the march route, the pedestrian pavement at the rally location too narrow, and the main route of the march route may be dangerous.
Chung Kin-ping’s application for the march and appeal was rejected. Some netizens proposed “strolling”, or a march for one person, “walking the streets” on the march route, and singing hymns. Over 100,000 participated by estimate.
