Selena, who loves urban exploration, hiking and photography, ventures into a deserted girls’ home.
The mansion is estimated to be built between late 1930 and early 1940. In 1948, it became the first girls’ home in Hong Kong and in East Asia outside Japan, for the residential rehabilitation of delinquent girls. The 3-storey main building looks like a castle and has a reinforced concrete frame with red brick infilled walls. The emphasis on lines and geometry embodies Art Deco influences. The interior spiral staircase in a polygonal design is an iconic feature. The building has been deserted for over 20 years.
Urban exploration is based on the principles of take nothing except picture, leave no trace and not revealing the location.
