Wong Nai Chung Reservoir, located at Wong Nai Chung Gap, was built in 1899 and is the third reservoir constructed in Hong Kong. With the completion of other larger reservoirs, the function of Wong Nai Chung Reservoir gradually diminished, and in 1986 it was transformed into the first sampan rowing park in Hong Kong. In February 2017, the contractor providing the service decided not to submit a bid and finally closed the business.
