Hong Kong people are unhappy with Beijing’s plan to force through the Hong Kong version of National Security Laws, in a move that critics say will effectively end the territory’s autonomy and the “One Country, Two Systems.”
After over 10,000 people protested in Causeway Bay and Wan Chai on 24 May, a rally is planned in IFC today to counter the Hong Kong version of the National Security Laws and get ready for the rally at Legislative Council on 27 May.
At 6:40 pm, several dozen people gathered at all 3 levels of the atrium of IFC in Central. The black flag of “Free Hong Kong, Revolution of Our Time” and the Hong Kong flag of the colonial era were raised. They sang “Glory to Hong Kong” to demonstrate that their enthusiasm for “5 Demands, Not One Less” has not diminished.
